Know The Differences Between Proper And Improper Quaker Parrot Food

Parrot owners often have to grapple with deciding what kind of ingredients to include as part of their Quaker parrot’s food and whether certain foods are better than others and if so, in what way and why. Unfortunately, if you don’t happen to be well versed in proper Quaker food you could end up feeding your Quaker with the wrong foods which could even be toxic and which will cause a noticeable deterioration in his health, which is never a good thing.

Feed Pellets Or Not

It is thus necessary to be well informed about whether it is indeed right and proper to feed your Quaker with pellets or to choose other kinds of foods that will provide maximum benefit as far as his health is concerned. In fact, if you go by what the experts have to say regarding best Quaker food then you will need to buy foods such as whole wheat breads, oats, corn, brown rice, cornbread, peas, beans as well as broccoli and cauliflower as well carrots, and a few more similar foods.

Items that may not be quite as great Quaker food as the ones just mentioned, but which are nevertheless good for your Quaker include foods such as grapes, oranges, grapefruit, lemon, lime, cherries, blueberries, pears, butter lettuce, Greenleaf, turnips, garbanzo beans as well as water chestnuts and other similar foods.

Other Quaker foods that you could perhaps feed your Quaker every once in a while include nutritious foods such as Brazil nuts, pecans, peanuts, peanut butter, walnuts, cashews, cooked beef and pork, macaroni and some cheese, sunflower seeds and even pizzas.

However, if you choose Quaker food that includes French fries, potato chips, tortilla chips and lunchmeats as well as cookies, frankfurters as well as Gatorade you will be feeding your Quaker excess of fat and sugar and salt and thus you need to control how much of them is fed so that no ill effects are felt by your pet Quaker parrot.

In case you are considering saving money on your Quaker food, and then you need to look for places that sell wholesale food and a good option in this regard would be Pet Superwarehouse.

However, Quaker food should never include foods such as avocadoes, chocolates, caffeine, alcohol, carbonated drinks, milk, dried fruits as well as houseplants. Other no-no Quaker food items include marijuana, Gatorade as well as catnip. So, be careful and use your common sense in choosing from the recommended foods while at the same time strictly abstaining from those foods that can harm or not benefit your Quaker parrot.
